Here are the Official Race Results of the Rush to Infinity Race.
Winners List
We would again like to apologize for the technical error that occurred at the finish line. We had adjusted the official race times to set-off any discrepancy due to the long queue at the finish line; however, due to the confusion of the runners and some of the race staff, some names were not included for various reasons (ie. some runners did not turn in their race stubs). We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Should you have any feedback, please feel free to email us at feedback@runrio.com

I ran the Mizuno Race 10K yesterday– and would like to question the final results posted.
I crossed the finish line, with one of your staff ripping off my stub number– feeling tired, I proceeded to the RUSH booth and lined up for my drink… Then I decided to go check the time from the race clock– it read 1:12:49… Logically, my finish time should be faster than that.
So was really appalled to see my official finish time at 1:24:11!!!! WHAT THE?!!!

hi rio,
apology accepted..we all make mistakes..however, my official time posted is 1:13 vs. time in my watch of 57:20…very big discrepancy.. i also saw how the bibs were randomly collected from the finish line and scanned in the computer on a first-come, first-served basis..thus, sacrificing accuracy.
i hope the next one will be much, much better….
June 30th, 2008 at 9:07 am
15 mins discrepancy in the official results….timing was really a mess in this race.
I hope you learn from this experience.

I love the 15K route. Im running this one again. This time water was overwhelming. Hope to see improvements on the time discrepancy. More power to you and the rest of the organizers.

Things happen for a reason and I’m sure we learned a lot of things from this situation. One thing happened is growth. Growth is using what you’ve learned and being able to cope up with the change going around you. You are moving to a bigger responsibility and higher level of competition. I commend you on how you reacted to the situation by taking responsibility and apologizing. You’re still a winner.
BTW, My Garmin registered a time of 1:36:28 hrs. and a distance of 15:40kms but race result is 1:52 hrs. Looking forward to participate in joining in your next race and count me in to be part of your support team..God bless!
June 30th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Ey coach, oks lang yung race. Enjoy naman ako. Mas enjoy nga ngayon kasi mukhang mas mahaba siya sa last time. Humaba yata sa Heritage. Garmin users registered around 15.7km and my suunto registered 16km. Now I’m happier with a 10miler.

Hi Coach Rio!
I enjoyed the race po…congratulations for all the things that went right. So happy the weather was good and Rush and water abundant. But my name or number is nowhere in the results po. And I did also wonder how timings would be handled considering the long queue. Some people knew better and cut the line nga —to get more accutrate times in siguro. Ako naman, I timed my own 10k so I don’t feel so concerned… but I realize how this technical problem can cause stress in others who trained so hard for the race….Hope this can be resolved and we can move on. Looking forward to the next run

hi Coach,
think results are wrong. Out of 8 of us who joined the various races (5k, 10k, 15k), think only 2 got their time correctly. Also what is exact measurement for 15k route. my nike+ got it at 15.3km but think Garmin users got different distance as well. Lots and lots of water and Rush though so that was a good thing. See you in the next race.
June 30th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Are you still going to revise the official time results? i hate seeing my name beside a finish time that’s 15mins slower than my actual finish time that i saw in my watch.. pls change it!
June 30th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
time? what time? ahahaha. anyway, my t6 said 1:28, but the official results say 1:37. also, it read 14.7 km at the finish. i think i have to attend rio’s running clinics at the ultra.
anyway, it happens sometimes coach so no need to despair! just go ahead and do it better the next time around!
see you at your future races!
ps. kaya pala parang wala ka sa mood noong kinakausap kita after nung races. hahaha
June 30th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Nice race. Perfect running weather!!! Everything was well done except for the finish and I admire they way you reacted to the situation.
I joined the long line then decided after a few seconds to dash to the finish line just to say that I finished the race then lined up again with the rest.
My official Time 10K: 1:12
My Garmin 405 time : 54:30
My Garmin distance : 9.82KM

Dear Coach Rio,
As with other people who left comments in your site, I would like to complain about the incorrect race times you posted. Wonder why, when I got to the finish line well ahead of the last person during the 15k, our finish times were the same. I was quite proud of the fact that I didn’t finish last (despite the fact that I’m an amateur runner) so it was a disappointment to see the published race results bunch me together with other people when i know for sure that our race times were different. Plus according to my watch I finished the race earlier than what is indicated in the results you published.
Maybe it’s time to use RFID next time?
Just my two cents worth.

lets be frank here..as much as we all respect rio, lets admit that it was a dissapointing finish line especially for those wanting to see accurate times..sure rio learned his lesson but lets not pretend that were not mad..i was shouting incentives at the finish line because i trained hard for this race.
June 30th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Hi Coach,
First of all, thanks for all the tips and for correcting my form during the Rush Run Clinic at R.O.X.
However, my officemates and I noticed that our times were all wrong. In my case, my watch and my SE580 phone’s fitness app both registered 1:26 but in the results my time was 1:36. I started both timers a second after the 15k race start.
In any case, don’t beat yourself up too badly about the finish line problem. We had enough water (and Rush), had a great course, and best of all - had fun. I’m sure all mistakes will be rectified and remembered for future events.
June 30th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
hi coach! i congratulate you and your staff for the event. i suggest you post the results as “unofficial” or provide a remark of “results may be posted as inaccurate due to technical discrepancies in the timing of the race” or something to that effect just so some runners will not be confused and unsatisfied.
Anyway, i would just like to comment for everyone that whatever your time was on paper, you and I know our real accurate times (I hope if we had timed ourselves with our stopwatches) And we should be happy and satisfied with that. If we had not timed ourselves, then perhaps we can get a stopwatch for our next race. Cheers!
June 30th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
i had fun even though i’m not in my top form, sort of saying low batt. suggestion, next time, put a kilometer marker.
June 30th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
for those who used gps or any other speed and distance gadget, all units have plus or minus with regard to distance and speed covered so if you did more than the actual distance then good for you, if it was less then look at the calibration of your watch/unit as always next time always wear your watch as well just to be sure..”i was shouting incentives at the finish line because i trained hard for this race.” what do you mean po by this simon?
June 30th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
it was my first time to join a race like this and was just aiming to beat my own time on the treadmill (1:22/10k).
when i crossed the finish line, it was a good thing that i turned around and look for the official time. and it read 1:15 for 10k.
but when i checked the official results on this site, my time was listed at 1hr28mins.
well… mistakes happen…
i think the moral lesson for the not so hardcore runner like me is… look for the clock when you cross the finish line and be happy and contented.
and next race, beat your previous time.
to mr rio, it was a good event overall.
sabi ko nga sa anak ko pag nadapa… tayo!!! pagpag!!! takbo!!!
till next race!!!

RELAX PEOPLE!
This was 10x better organized than the last one.
I didn’t realize that this was the Olympic qualifiers. Your watch says you ran a 1:15 but the official results have you running a 1:25? So what!? You ran a 1:15. What did you lose from having the official results a few minutes slower? Do you think your watch is wrong, or the human hands that were grabbing hundreds of paper tickets then manually entering results?
My bigger complaint is about the traffic. I still had to eat jeepney exhaust, dodge cars, and at one point yell at a traffic cop to stop traffic so I could cross the street without stopping.
All in all, a huge improvement. Keep up the good work, Rio!!!

Coach, Bru, It was a good race after all! I’m still impressed! Cheer up tol, you deserve a bottle of beer! congrats!
July 1st, 2008 at 8:12 am
good thing the race results were withdrawn, no point in posting inaccurate time and calling it official
July 1st, 2008 at 8:16 am
It’s okay Coach Rio.. don’t be too hard on yourself, apology accepted. In an event as big as this with 1000 plus participants, you really don’t know what’s going to happen. My suggestion to runners is to always have back-up.. always time yourself.. My watch read 1:15:12 when I finished the 10k. On the official results it says 1:25:26.. a 10minute discrepancy =( But it’s okay, I know my real time.

Not to sound like a drama queen, but one of the many good things about joining run events is the sense of accomplishment you get at the finish line. At the Mizuno run, it felt like I’ve been cheated out of a good race, so it was bad. But it was also my first 15K (so I’m subjective).
Also, it didn’t help that your personal participation as the official organizer was hype-up by some of the staff. When I registered at the Mizuno store, the staff there took pains to tell me that Mr Rio will be handling the event, so expectations was notch higher.
But all thing said and considered, it was still a good race and I had good time for most part. I wouldn’t mind running again on the next Mizuno event.

im sure the dude meant he was shouting “invectives,” not “incentives”
coatch rio, here are good suggestions i gleaned from the comments here:
DOABLE: Kilometer markers
NOT-SO-DOABLE: runner’s RFID
kilometer markers are easy to put in place. plus, it makes a runner feel good about how much he/she has covered running and how much more he/she has to go before the finish line.
as for RFID timing chips, stuff like this costs millions to acquire. lets not expect (yet) such first-world gadgets in our footraces, not in a few years anyway.

for mr. carlos…
yap, “invectives” nga siguro, hindi incentive, unless he is expressing positivity, pero kinorek mo nga, kokorekin din kita, COACH RIO, at hindi COATCH ha, walang T, hahaha, jok lang po, baka typo, pinatatawa ko lang mga na disappoint,, come to think of it, we gained naman din,, we are healthier, stronger, faster (but we don’t know that haha), higher, este,,, alam niyo na ibig kong sabihin… jokjok lang, and let’s all be happy and run…
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:55 pm
There should have been different finish lines for 5k, 10k and 15k. The bottleneck started right about the time the 5k and 10k runners came in (around 30 to 45 mins into the race). People that joined 10k and 15k are either Pro or Semi-Pro with only a handful trying it out. Most of the complaints came from them because they really trained hard for it only to wait on the line because a novice runner was on the way. I can understand their frustration because this is what competition is all about, finishing. So what’s done is done and we can only learn and move forward from this mishap. Next Mizuno should be interesting.

Don’t erase it coach
July 3rd, 2008 at 4:10 pm
it was actually frustrating to see your name in the list as a winner and see it again the next day taken out, nevertheless, it was organized well and thank god that there was enough water for everyone especially in the mckinley hill route. also, just a suggestion, i hope the 5k will have a different route next time because on the way back it’s hard for some of the 10k and 15k runners to zig zag there way to the finish line. some of them kasi are just walking while some of us are trying to beat personal records. thank you.
July 3rd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
why cant people be dissapointed?natatawa ka sa mga nadissapoint?anu ka sira ulo?so pagpalpak ang finish line at nagalit mga tao, pagtatawanan mo?huh lugs?sira ulo ka nga ata..so in the next race, i dont want to see you running to the finish line ok?
bute pa si cisco, can understand that finishing is important..
July 3rd, 2008 at 4:51 pm
all of you are ass kissing coach rio..what do you gain by being sipsip…i havent seen a post here na nagalit because of the bad finish..i never thought people are actually happy pag pumapalpak ang organizer.the fact that rio himself admitted the mistake, means meron nga talagang mali…like, im mad, but it doesnt mean that i hate rio nor would not join any of his races anymore. but most posts here are simple asskissing..the finishline is part of a great race so dont say it was great race cuz it was not.
July 3rd, 2008 at 6:49 pm
excuse me po, mr. andrew gonzales, i, myself, am disappointed, sir, i didnt say pinagtatawanan ko, i said PINATATAWA KO lang po, please read carefully so you react carefully … no use being mad here.. peace tayo.. hehe, alam na ni coach rio ang dapat niyang gawin next time..
