great and very organized fun run. thanks coach rio. God bless you more.
kudos to you!!! this is how a race should be organized
i agree, this run sets the pace!!
Kilometre signs were great. I’d give the organisation full marks except I don’t understand why you delayed the start by 15 minutes. You could not have been waiting for people caught up in traffic since it was Sunday morning. Were you waiting for celebrity? If they woke up late it’s their fault, you have no obligation to wait for them.
This is the second time I joined a race organised by you.. and so far both are the most organised compared to the other races I’ve joined in the past. Keep up the good job!
Where is the 3K Female Non MD result? The uloaded felie was for 5K Female Non MD. Thanks. Well organized. Great job. Congrats!
I just have to shake your hand early today at the Ultra for a job well done for the RUNew. The race route was fantastic and this is how race events should be organized. Just a little comment for improvement to make it perfect, stick to the published starting time. Not a complaint but only room for improvement.
I was quite relieved that they delayed the start. arrived at the area 5 am. but got to park at around 520. I actually ran from the parking area to the start area. Parking in the area was tight, bottle neck para makapasok ng parking.
Great run! laging ang bilis lumabas ng results!
I must say, very organized and really fun! Kudos!
To those who commented that we started late. The countdown timer started at 4:30 am. The race started at exactly 5:45 am as was previously published.
Hi Doc Lora, the event was advertised for 5:30am — it said so on my race packet (15KM Run Start at 5:30am) as well as in the posters for this event (5:30AM McKinley Hill, Taguig City). Nowhere did we see a 5:45.
As you can see from the other comments here, the late arrivals are grateful that you DELAYED the start by 15 minutes. They were held back by the bottleneck at the parking area, which we warned you guys about in the weeks before the race.
Hello to all who commented on the late start. The registration form that we signed stated the following:
Assembly time: 5:00am
15k starts @ 5:45am
5k starts @ 5:55am
3k starts @ 6:00am
It has always been like these in all the fun run. Just want to clarify lang. Peace to all!
Hi Coach Rio!
This was my very first 5 km fun run, and I must say I had a blast! Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Keep happy! More power to you!
hello coach Rio. Im a first time 15km runner. the route was hard and challenging for me nevertheless, i thank God for finishing the race. Im so glad to become a part of it but when i saw the results i was saddened because my bib number was not published. Please help me check on this my bib number is K4536 my time is 1:50:02. They also took the barcode when i crossed the finished line. It would means so much to me if you can help.
thank you coach and more power.
agree on the parking issue which most of my colleagues and oficemates I invited for the run complained about. I had 15 first timers joined the race and they’ve actually enjoyed it. They’re joining condura run and some of them are looking forward to joining more running events.
Two of 3K runners though (since first timers) ran all the way to 5K mark. there seemed to be confusion somehow on the last u-turn marking or they’re just first timers? Haha! 5K u-turn marks are clear though.
Another comment on water station – the two people assigned there missed filling up the cups in the middle part perhaps. not to put them down, i know they’re doing their job but maybe we can consider some strategy or improvement here – you know how relieving water is in this kind of activity but if it’s going to eat on our time, it’s not worth it at all! you know what i mean =)
Over-all, it was fun and well organized! I’m also glad people I invited really had fun.
Congrats to you Rio and team!!!
I am glad that a lot of the runners had fun. This is the first fun run event sponsored by Asian Hospital for the benefit of our charity patients. And, I think this will become a yearly event for Asian Hospital. We might have it at the Filinvest, Alabang area next year. Will ask Rio to study that possibility for next years run. “RUNEW 2″
As for the parking, I think as in any big event, parking will always be a problem thats why, it is always best to be at the venue ahead of the others or better yet inspect the area prior to the event and strategize your parking. Of course the best is to have a driver.
Thanks jmb for clearing the late start issue. All Runrio races (except for 1 last year) start on time because there is a countdown timer which starts at 4:30 am. It does not wait for celebrities who come late or for anyone who hasn’t parked his car yet because of the parking lot bottleneck. Check the race registration form you signed. Just have to defend Rio who helped us organize a great run.
where can i see the photos from the event??
I did read carefully the wording of the document that I signed at the time, but it was a waiver.
But even granting that the registration form did specify a 5:45 start, that would still mean that the organisers put out TWO conflicting start times — unless they are now disowning 1.) the race packets and 2.) the posters that both clearly specified a 5:30. The forms were collected by the organisers and it was the packets that were left with the participants, so it was the timetable that we followed. Maybe it’s all the printing house’s mistake, I’ll grant them that.
I had no problems with the parking, since I anticipated the bottleneck. Except for this 15-minute issue, I agree it was a great run, one of the best I’ve been to, and the organisers deserve our thanks. Cheers!
I am taking notes on all your comments with regards to the parking and the start time of the run and I assure you that in the next Asian Hospital fun run with Rio, it will even be better. Hope to see you all again next year.
Thank you very much Dr. Tuason and looking forward to your Festival Mall run. By the way, as the registration form was mentioned in this thread, the organisers might want to run the document through a lawyer before next year’s event, as I think there are some serious typos in the key terms of the liability waiver.
Yes, will do that and thanks too for your constructive comments. I must say that because of the RUNEW fun run a lot of doctors of Asian Hospital are now into running…we are even planning to have another funrun around asian hospital during our foundation week this coming May. But this will probably be exclusive to Asian hospital doctors and employees.
for the sake of my co runners..you should also address your MISTAKES…this will discourage future endorsement of this said organizers…be honest!
Just an observation. I was there whent the awarding took place. How come the ones called up and awarded on stage were different from the top three finishers based on the final race results? This is particularly true in the 15km race. I think proper recognition should have been given to the real winners.
the very important guy`s you all enjoy the run that`s it trouble sometimes cant be avoided.
This really is what I’ve been searching all day. I should have discovered your blog post faster.
