All Systems Go for the RunRio eRegistration System!

After months of conceptualizing yet another high-tech innovation by RunRio Inc., together with the invaluable talent of the bright young minds from Orange & Bronze, we are proud to announce that overall, the first day of eRegistration for The Rexona Run 2010 was a success. During the days leading up to the opening of registration, it was literally a race against time as we tried our very best to deploy iPads, routers, and other registration materials to their respective registration sites. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a hold of the Sun Broadband routers in time and as a result, we had to temporarily make do with existing wifi connections either from SM or at the registration site itself, such as R.O.X. Some registrants may have experienced some bogging down in the system as a result of not having our own routers available, and for this, we apologize. Rest assured that we are doing our very best to make sure that all registration sites have their own routers to speed up the eRegistration process. Our apologies also go to those who unfortunately had to resort to manual registration due to some technical difficulties we experienced. We are working on all these issues as I publish this post.

We are happy to report that as of 9pm yesterday, June 28, we have had 55 registrants at Timex SM Mall of Asia, 69 at Timex SM North EDSA, 39 at Timex Southmall, 75 at Timex Megamall, 79 at Timex Glorietta, and 59 at R.O.X. Bonifacio High Street, for a total of 376 confirmed participants only on our first day! I was so giddy with excitement that I didn’t mind staying at R.O.X. from the moment the store opened, assisting registrants and our staff, until registration closed at 9pm. It was definitely a promising start to a great event.

Just a point of clarification, the RunRio eRegistration System is independent of the online registration system that we use. The former is a system specifically designed for us by Orange & Bronze while the latter utilizes the services of Active.com. Online registration is not applicable at the registration sites and vice-versa. Please click on the link provided on our previous post to register online. It should be activated within the day, tomorrow at the latest.

We’ve also received several inquiries about the RunRio Membership Card. Again, I apologize for the delay but it’s taking a while for our supplier to produce all 20,000 cards. Although some cards have already been printed, it would be best for us to finish production completely before distributing to the different registration sites. We are aiming to release them by next week and we will contact you personally as soon as they are ready for pick up at the registration site where you signed up.

As for the race maps, we’ve already mapped out the routes for each distance category but I am putting the announcement on hold because based on experience, there is still a chance that the route might change, especially since this is the first time the proposed route will be used for a running event. To avoid confusion due to possible rerouting, we will release the race maps as we get closer to the event. Please wait for further announcements on our website.

To those who have not registered yet, we invite you to come and experience the RunRio eRegistration System at any of our registration sites. Again, our apologies for the birth pains we are currently experiencing and we hope to continue improving this service as we progress. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at The Rexona Run 2010!
