Dear Runners,
First of all, my heartfelt thanks for your continued support of all Run Rio events. You have shown this, not only through your enthusiastic participation in our races but also through the generous and sincere feedback you have given on how you appreciate what we are doing, as well as on how we can better deliver on our promise of A-rated races you all fully deserve.
Once again we are overwhelmed by your interest in the last and final leg of our Run Rio Trilogy, the Run United 2 race sponsored by Unilab ActiveHealth.
We are saddened, however, that despite our pre-registration tests, the first week of in-store registrations has been far from smooth. We apologize for the glitches in the new registration system and distribution process that have caused great inconvenience to many of you.
We thank you for all your valuable feedback which has helped us and our technical team have a better grasp of the problems and how we can best resolve them.
As head of Runrio, I take full responsibility for the problems that have ensued and reaffirm our commitment to resolve them at the soonest possible time. I thank our major sponsor Unilab for their continued support despite all of these issues.
Please allow me also to offer some explanation to the problems you have experienced – not to excuse ourselves but to better appreciate the solutions we have set in place to address them.
1. Automated Registration System
Our decision to implement an automated registration system was to ensure a more accurate data collection and to make future registrations in Run Rio events easier. Unfortunately, however, we have experienced intermittent internet connections in our registration sites. Our internet providers have already beefed up our internet connectivity, enabling our registration centers improved multiple broadband connections and faster response rates. We are now running live in all sites. In instances when internet connection levels will be low and beyond our control, we will provide for manual registration as back up.
2. Singlet Availability
Many registrants were also not able to get their race singlets upon registration as we have not been able to deliver the needed number during the first week of heavy registration.
Since no local supplier had the stock for our projected 20,000 participants, we decided to directly import our singlets from China. Our supplier, however, failed to deliver on our agreed schedules. This has consequently resulted to a backlog on our end.
To address this, I have pulled all stops to have 10,000 singlets flown in on a commercial flight. All registrants will have their singlets delivered door-to-door without any additional cost starting November 3. We will deliver your singlets to the address you submitted during registration. If you want it to be delivered to a different address, please contact Ms. Hannelore at 09153457168 or 7031736.
Please note that only the first 10,000 registrants are assured of receiving the singlet of their preferred size. The last 10,000 registrants will be able to get their desired singlet size on a first-come-first-serve basis.
3. Unilab ActiveHealth Kits
During our first day of in-store registration on October 10, we were also not able to give out the Unilab ActiveHealth kits to registrants due to delivery and in store storage problems. We are now constantly monitoring all our registration centers to ensure the availability of Unilab ActiveHealth kits at all times.
We will deliver your ActiveHealth kits to the address you submitted during registration. If you want it to be delivered to a different address, please contact Ms. Hannelore at 09153457168 or 7031736.
4. Moving Forward
Given all these, I still stand responsible for the issues that have ensued. I deeply appreciate all your feedback and rest assured that Run Rio is taking all the best possible action to resolve the issues.
We have gone a very long way in making running an essential part in the lives of so many people. I hope you would continue to support our quest to bring running in our country to new heights despite the birth pains we are now going through in the introduction of another first in running events organization — our automated race registration system.
If you have further concerns, our lines of communication are always open. You can reach us via email, SMS, phone, or you can even approach me personally.
Again, my heartfelt thanks and sincere apologies. See you at the race!
Dream high,

Rio De la Cruz
