My Heartfelt Thanks for the Success of The Rexona Run 2010 Posted by Rio on 06 August 2010
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined The Rexona Run 2010, especially to those who sent their warm congratulations and words of praise. Despite the many glitches in our newly-implemented RunRio eRegistration System, the total number of registrants exceeded our expectations, thanks to the patience and understanding of each and every registrant while going through our new registration process. In all our RunRio events, we always strive to give our participants the best racing experience possible, from pre-event registration to race day execution, even if it means spending more just to secure your safety and enjoyment. Rest assured that there will be many more innovations and improvements to come in my upcoming races.
This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors: Rexona Men Sport Defence, Unilever, SM Mall of Asia, Powerade, Century Tuna, Unilab, Sun Broadband, Timex, ROX, Prudential Guarantee, and David’s Salon, alongside the selfless dedication of Team RunRio. My heart goes out to my project managers Louella Magro and Kaye Lopez, assistant race director Joar Calvadores, timing director Jonathan Teves, registration and manpower manager Merlyn Teves, and all our race marshals and traffic enforcers from MMDA, PNP, Pasay Traffic, and Paranaque traffic. Special thanks to SM Mall of Asia for implementing an effective parking scheme, which helped lessen the hassle of parking on race morning. Through our collective effort, we were able to execute another world-class race and we look forward to collaborating with them again for our future events.
My sincerest apologies for the miscommunication regarding the PhotoVendo online race photos. Free download is only available for 10K and 21K and it was only the PhotoVendo print-out that was complimentary to participants for all categories. We did our best to make your photo pick-up more convenient by providing 4 lines in the activity area. Free download was only a bonus feature for the 10K and 21K. We promise to do our best to communicate these details better to all of you in the future.
I also apologize about the last-minute detour along the 21K race route. It was an unfortunate turn-of-events because we had already procured the necessary permit to utilize the Marina area. The retraction of our permit the night before race day, at around 9pm, came as an unpleasant surprise. But thanks to my reliable head marshals, we were able to reroute quickly to compensate for the Marina section of the course. We will do our best not to let these unexpected revisions happen again.
I am happy to report that our new timing device, the Chronotrack D-Tag, was both efficient and effective in capturing the race results. There were still some difficulties, especially with regards to the latecomer, and in order to minimize these errors in the future, we kindly ask for your cooperation by coming at least an hour before your gun start. Not only will you not have problems finding a parking slot, but also you can rest assured that your finish time will be recorded accurately.
Again, many thanks to everyone who has made The Rexona Run 2010 a huge success. We look forward to your continued support in our future RunRio events.
Claiming of RunRio Membership Cards Posted by Rio on 12 July 2010
Our sincerest apologies for the delay in the release of the RunRio Membership Cards for those who registered early. We have already made arrangements for our card supplier to inform all concerned registrants that their cards are ready for pick up at the site where they registered starting on Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
Please be advised that all card recipients we will be required to bring either a valid ID, for those who will claim their RunRio Membership Card personally, or a letter of authorization, if they will ask someone to claim it on their behalf.
As of now, the main purpose of these membership cards is to increase the efficiency of our data-gathering process. The next time you wish to join a RunRio event, you no longer need to go through the tedious process of falling in line and entering your data on our iPads. All you need to do is show us your card and we will be able to obtain your registration information using your ID number. We will keep you posted as soon as special deals and discounts will be available for card-holders.
Thank you for your kind attention and patience with regards to this matter.
Over 2000 Registered Participants for The Rexona Run 2010 in Less Than a Week! Posted by Rio on 05 July 2010
The rise in the number of registered participants seems to be on hyperspeed, with a total of 2228 confirmed runners as of July 4, 2010, less than a week from the start of registration last June 28, 2010. RunRio Inc.’s latest innovation of automated registration has obviously caused a frenzy within the running community, causing many tech-savvy runners to flock to the nearest registration site to try out the RunRio eRegistration System for themselves. Although, admittedly, there are still some kinks left to be ironed out, the novelty of this new registration process has piqued the interest of many runners, most of which were able to have a smooth eRegistration experience.
So don’t get stuck in manual mode. Sign up now at any of our registration sites and try our new automated iPad registration for The Rexona Run 2010. Race kits and singlets are available while supplies last so hurry before stocks run out!
All Systems Go for the RunRio eRegistration System! Posted by Rio on 29 June 2010
