RunRio Trilogy Leg 3 - Unilab Run United 2

RunRio Trilogy Race Info

After two years of successfully organizing some of the best running events in the country, Coach Rio De La Cruz, also known by his blog or brandname “RunRio,” is proud to present its very own running series called The RunRio Trilogy. This is a triple combination of three major running events that will be held from 2009 to 2010. The dates and venues for each event are as follows:

The first of its kind, TheRunRio Trilogy will be introducing the 32km Afroman distance on its third and final leg. It has been said that a large percentage of runners, who have attempted a marathon, usually “hit the wall” during the last 10km of the 42km distance. Running the Afroman is a chance for marathon hopefuls to race at their marathon pace without having to worry about that notoriously painful last 10 kilometers. For those who have intentions of finishing the full marathon distance, the Afroman is a perfect training race leading up to their target event.

In less than two years, a strong business partnership was formed between Finishline and Timex, the latter being the official timekeeper for all Finishline events. And with Coach Rio just recently joining the Timex family as their product endorser, Time is Running: The 2009 Timex Run with Coach Rio and PioloPascual was born. This event, scheduled on November 15, 2009 at the Bonifacio Global City, is a preview of The RunRio Trilogy and a perfect venue to launch the run series as a whole.Timex’s participation could not have come at a better time, as they even offered to invite no less than Mr. PioloPascual, along with other celebrity endorsers and famous personalities, as an added come-on to the event. Aside from being able to capitalize on the participation of these celebrities, we are also expecting a larger turn-out since Fort Bonifacio Global City and McKinley Hill have been proven to be very accessible to race participants.

Aside from promoting The RunRio Trilogy, The 2009 Timex Run also aims to encourage first-time runners to try the sport and enjoy running with friends and family. Beginners may want to test the waters and try the shorter 3km and 5km events but we are also including longer distances such as 10km and 21km to cater to seasoned runners who are on a constant quest to take their fitness to the next level. In order to promote the longevity of running among sports enthusiasts, participants can expect a lot of surprising innovations during the entire series, starting with The 2009 Timex Run. With Finishline pioneering the use of ChampionChips, a high-tech timing system for fast and accurate race results; detailed RunPix performance analysis complete with graphic illustrations and comparative results; and professional action shots by PhotoVendo to capture those precious winning moments, there’s no telling what Finishline will be able to think of next.
